    Hi all,
I have a "Y" Vectra 2.2 CD and it has developed a squeak on the accelerator
pedal - quite annoying really. I'm fairly sure there isn't a mouse
    underneath it!
I seem to recall that it may well be a "fly by wire" unit - how do I set
    about curing this annoying noise?
Is it likely to be mechanical or electrical? It would be nice to be prepared
    for the job.
Thanks for any help / advice.
    Regards
    Rob

    Hi Rob,
Such a small problem that I made a lot of money out of thanks
    to the Vx warranty!
It's an easy one to fix, Get a flat blade screwdriver, undo the
three or so clips under the dash, look at the accelerator pedal, you
will see a ball-joint type linkage at the top of the pedal assembly.
Lube (With a suitable lubricant, I.E. WD40..) the ball links of this
assembly. Carry out test sweep of accelerator linkage, no squeak....
    Hope this helps

Yes it is, did mine the same way. I used thin oil though not WD40.

    Thanks all,
Seems like it's a mechanical problem not electrical and a simple fix by all
    accounts.
I appreciate all your help and comments
    Cheers
