Hi,
I have 4 year old Corsa a gls 1.2 and it makes a strange slightly
muted knocking in or about the engine compartment. For example it will
start at about 2000 revs in 2nd gear and as I acelerate it will
disappear, something similar happens in other gears. When the noise
comes I can hold the knocking by steady pressure on the accelerator.It
is not a steady knock as in big/small ends. It is getting louder. It
is not pinking. I am told that it may possibly be a chipped cog in the
gearbox or in the diferential. Can anyone shed light on this?
