My immobiliser won't go off. It's been to the main vauxhall dealer who
say they can't fix it because they don;t have the old tech 1 tool, but
when I managed to find somebody with one he says it won;t fix it. Do I
have no option but to scrap it just because I can't get one tiny wee
red light to go out. It is pretty old but still in good condition so
i'm loathe to get rid. The key (transponder) has been checked and is
    working OK.

I remember these - arm themselves after 30 seconds and you have to press the
key to turn it off - owners hated them. How do you know the key is ok? Have
you checked the receiver - it is the dome thing near the interior light?

your should have a card with the car that tells you a set of ignition key
    turns to turn it off.
vauxhall should be able to tell you that

  4. You can reset the old one and set it again!!!
You must have the car pass for the imo code though
