    Hi,

    About a month ago, I bought a brand new Corsa, it's a 1.0 litre 12V.

I've done about 1250 miles in it, and noticed today that it's
suffering from a bit of rust around the exhaust pipe on the silencer
box. Is this something to worry about? And if so, presumably it's
    covered by the warranty?

    Thanks in advance,

It's only going to be surface rust and won't rust though the silencer box
    (which is double- skinned).

Still, a bit disappointing after a month - I wonder how long your car was
sitting around in a manufacturer compound before it got to you.

OK thanks for that, I had another look at it this morning and it doesn't
look as bad as it did last night!

Don't think the car was stored for very long - it virtually came straight
from the factory - I had to wait 8 weeks for it from order to delivery.

I suspect it is nothing to worry about but I would ask a dealer to have a
    look.

You say the car is a 2004. Are you sure? If it is the facelifted model it
will be 2004 and therefore it will not have been sitting around. If it is
pre-facelift it is a 2003 model and could have been sitting for a while
    before you took delivery.

Quite often it is wax and not rust although the tailpipe ends do rust a
    little.

Hi, yes it is the 2004 model, I was waiting 8 weeks for it to be delivered
    from the factory!

I think most of the wax has gone now, at least the smell has stopped, I've
done nearly 1300 miles so it's had a good run. The actual end of the
tailpipe is OK, it's just around where the tailpipe joins the silencer.

Under the Vauxhall warranty, can I take it to any Vauxhall dealer or is it
best to go back to the dealer that I purchased the car from?

    Thanks,

    Tariq

Any Vauxhall dealer will look at it - warranty work is a nice earner for
    them.
