2003 Corsa Active Problems

Discussion in 'Corsa' started by Allan Cropper, Jun 20, 2004.

  1. I have had my new corsa Active for just over a year and have started to
notice a few problems and am wondering what they can be.

Firstly when I am driving at around 40mph I am hearing what sounds like a
belt going round but when I slow down it goes? It doesn't do it all the time
but it does it on and off which is annoying. I wouldn't mind if it was
    constant but its not.

Another is when I am turning corners. Makes a screatching sound. This
    again I can't understand

If anyone can advise me on these problems I'd be appreciative

Sounds to me like your fan belt needs to be tightened, just a slight
    adjustment to correct it.

Does it make a screeching noise when you start it on cold mornings?

  3. It usually happens when it is wet weather or on the dual carriageway. Its
not a loud screeching noise, its an intermitant sound. Constant depending
on how cold it is. I have notice it when on the motorway a couple of weeks
ago, but that was when it was really warm which makes me wonder what the
    heck it is.

    cheers for replying robin

  4. Stratch that last part. The belt sound is when I am driving at around40mph
but the screeching is when turning normal corners. This sometimes happens
in all types of weather. Not just in the cold weather

Could be the power steering, If it's still under warranty, (which it should
be) I'd get a Vauxhall dealer to check it out.
