The wipers on my 2001 Corsa C have completely seized up, I have taken a look at them and think it could be the drivers side
spindle that has seized. The passenger side on still moves up and down a little but the drivers side one seems solid, also I can
force the wipers to do a cycle by giving them a bit of manual encouragement. The motor is also getting hot, which suggests to me
that it is working but starting hitting a stubling block when as the spindle appears to be seized.

My question is, is the only fix to replace the whole linkage set-up? and if so how much am I looking to pay?

    Thanks in advance,

    Chris.

If you are capable then you could attempt to remove the linkage yourself,
strip it down and thoroughly clean and grease the spindles. I had a car in
a non-franchised garage getting an MOT and a mechanic there had removed the
linkage and was doing just that. It may take you a bit of time but then it
is your time and you are not having to pay for it. I had to do this with an
old Cavalier, saved some money and had a bit of satisfaction when it was
    done.

Well worth doing.. On my Corsa B the linkage had become stiff un beknownst
to me and started being jerky finaly burned out the motor....

Took it to bits cleaned up and greased the linkages, got it all working
witha replacement motor, about an hours work, happy as a sandboy...

Fine ever since, i recently changed the cabin air filter and took the
oppertunity to re lube the linkage - while i was there so to speak.
