Just wondering if any newsgroup readers have ever undertaken to replace the
radiator in an Astra 1.7 DTi.

Mine has been leaking for quite a while and is steadily getting worse, so
it's time to get it fixed. Haynes manual seems to indicate it's fairly easy
and straightforward but I'd like to hear from someone who's actually tried
    it.

It can supposedly be done without removing the turbo intercooler and the
aircon radiator, but is this practical?

Grateful for any words of advice.

I remember doing one years ago and I am 90% I didn't degas ac. Get the
bumper off and unbolt the fan from the rear. Drain the coolant through the
drain plug. Coolant pipes off. Unbolt intercooler - might be easy to take
it all the way off. Unbolt condenser and support it. Undo bottom rad
brackets and slide it out the bottom. refit is same in reverse.About 2hrs.
They some times take a bit of bleeding through. If this is all bollox sorry
    but done from memory.
