    Can anyone offer some advice.

When removing on of the front seats I had to disconnect the seat belt
tensioner. Whilst the seat was out I had to drive the car which resulted in
the seat belt tension warning light showing as you would expect when running
turning on the ignition. ( lamp went off and then stayed on indicating a
    fault).

After replacing the seat and reconnecting the tensioner i have found that
the warning light still indicats a fault. I have checke the wiring and the
    tensioner and all appears ok.

Does anyone know if something has to be reset and if so how.

    Thanks

    Alan

You really should not have put the ignition on with it unplugged cos now you
have to find someone with a suitable diagnostic machine to reset the fault
    codes in the ecu.

  3. Have you tried removing (engine compartment) fuse 2 for around 15 minutes?
It's a big one, 30A from memory. Fuse 1 is nearest engine/saloon bulkhead.
You'll reset your trip mileage, and hopefully it will reset the warning
    light. (At your risk etc.)
