1 Ltr Corsa Cambelt?

Hello,
My wife has recently had a 2001 1Ltr 12 valve petrol Corsa.
Does this have a cambelt or chain?
At what mileage should it be renewed?
It drives great and there is no problem with oil or anything, but there
is a bit of a knocking noise from the engine, particularly when it's
warmed up. Is this usual with this model?

It is a chain. It "should" last the life time of the engine.

Engine should be quiet once warmed up. There is a general Vauxhall
recall on 1.0 & 1.2 engines to fix a batch of faulty timing chains but
this is for 2003 to present day engines rather than 2001 I think. Might
be worth asking a VX dealer to have a listen.
