£98 for tracking

  1. Just been charged £98 to have the tracking checked and adjusted at local
vauxhall dealers. This seems excessive what’s people's opinions?

That's insane, just for wheels straightened? I just got quoted £250 for
waterpump+cambelt, mate knows someone, said £80ish for both, don't go to
    Vauxhall man.

  3. My local tyre depot (one of the big chains but not kwikfit) does a 4-wheel
tracking check for nil pounds. If it needs adjusting it costs 20.

Ouch, £98 is too much! I was quoted £45 by accident repairers a few
months ago, but in the end I think they forgot to add it to the bill
    :)

That was for a full service check on the steering system though,
including tracking, camber, caster, etc. A tyre-fit place would
    probably charge £20-30 I guess?

The parts alone are more than £80. It sounds like someone is going to cut
    corners.

    Only at main dealer prices...

Just been charged £98 to have the tracking checked and adjusted
Unbelievably exorbitant, even for a main dealer. About £25 is the norm
    at local garages.

  9. Anyone who does it for free will have to 'find something wrong' a lot of the
    time to fund it.

I would feel happier paying and getting a reliable job done in the first
    place.

By the way, we charge £35 but this includes adjustments as necessary.

I've seen "laser" computerised 4 wheel alignments at about 65 pounds.
Did you not ask how mcuh before they did it?
