Hi
My 95 Vectra B 1.8GLS has just passed it's MOT but I have a couple of
warning lights on the dash that have appeared over the past few months.

1, My ABS warning light comes on after driving half a mile, .
2, My engine management light (engine icon with lightning) comes on when
engine started and stays on until key removed.
I have been told by my garage that the ABS is functional and the engine is
fine (possible displaced or corroded sensors)

Does anyone know how to disable these warning lights other that taking the
dash apart and removing the bulbs, e.g. which wires to cut and where.

My car runs fine for it's age and I intend to run it for as long as
practical then scrap it, so the fact that the lights will be disabled does
not bother me.

Many thanks in advance

Mark

can't be much of garage then.
pull the codes
you can do it yourself with a paperclip or goto someone with a tech2 reader
or alike,
that will tell u exactly what is at fault
either should be simple to cure.

I doubt the ABS is "alright" unless it is a wiring fault etc
have you checked the little plugs inline with each
sometimes either these or the sensors themselves get a film of road crudd on
them at that causes weak signal so thus the light comes on.

if you wisha link to the codes/paperclip trick i can supply

mike
