    Guys and Gals.......

Have a 02 Zafira (opel). When the car has been left overnight or for other
long periods when its started the ABS warning light stays on highlighting a
fault with the ABS system. If I switch engine off again and re-start it
clears as normal or if I turn ignition key to position 2 (before it turns
the starter) and then back again and then start the engine as normal
    everything is ok.

    Any ideas please??

Ideally, the codes need to be pulled, however the most common fault we find
is the connector under the passenger seat. Check to see if the plug has
    worked loose.

oops! This post is for a srs light, not ABS...
A bad connector is still likely to be the problem though

When the car was serviced a few weeks ago (non Vauxhall) the garage said
they couldnt see anything from the codes.

Any ideas where to look for bad connections in the system?

If no codes are present, I would suspect a bad module. I believe the
modulator sits close to the brake reservoir. Check the connectors at this
point and also look for a bad earth. Is there any noticeable determination
    in the brakes?

.. Is there any noticeable determination
Nope. I do run with the light on for a while to see if it goes (which it
dont) and have not noticed any problems with the brakes otherwise........
will go out and have a wee look at what you suggested just now, will report
back if I find something amis

    Cant see anything obvious.

How much is it likely to cost if I go to a dealer and ask them to sort it?

Out of warranty now, only 2 years from Opel im afraid
