Power steering on 2.5 V6 Omega

Discussion in 'Omega' started by Neville Mooney, Nov 6, 2003.

  1. Hi,

    I've owned a 1999 Omega 2.5 V6, for 6 months now. Since I've had it, the
power steering feels almost unpowered at idling speed, reving up does help a
little. The curious part is that, when the car is cold, the PS is fine even
at idle. It only fails when the car has got really warmed (10 miles or so).

Has anyone experienced the same? Or have any ideas how I might fix it?

    Regards

  2. guess the obvious things to check is fluid level and tightness of the belt.

  3. Hi Simon,

Both OK, any other ideas, I had heard that this was a common problem, do you
think there's any point in changing the PS fluid?

    Cheers
